"Very nice, clean and comfortable. This is the place you want to stay when travelling to San Jose and the Silicon Valley. Safe, quiet, and convenient to the highway, Amtrak, and all my shopping needs. The rooms have shower and tub combination, Dish TV, wireless internet. The Valley Inn is centrally located and on the Main metro route. I will stay at Valley Inn, whenever I'm in San Jose, Calif. The price is fair. The management is very helpful and accommodating and you simply cannot beat the value and location. "

"Based on another reviewer, I decided to stay here for 3 nights to attend a conference at Santa Clara University. It was a 15-20 minute walk to the university, and there are several restaurants in walking distance like a ramen restaurant, your typical American diner, Mediterranean, sandwich shop, Taco Bell, Subway, Safeway and two Starbucks. However, I found the service lacking and even though the vending machine said it had water, in reality, they didn't stock any water. Also, even though I requested a Non-Smoking room, the man next door to me was clearly a smoker and would keep going in and out of his room in 20 minute intervals to smoke, and the smoke would seep under my doorway, negating a Non-Smoking environment. "
Good value for the money considering the nearby Best Western was at least $100 more per night, in walking distance to the university and other restaurants and shops, the bus stop is also right in front of the motel
Hands off service, no stocked water in the vending machine, bad luck of having a smoker next door
