Good value

Based on another reviewer, I decided to stay here for 3 nights to attend a conference at Santa Clara University. It was a 15-20 minute walk to the university, and there are several restaurants in walking distance like a ramen restaurant, your typical American diner, Mediterranean, sandwich shop, Taco Bell, Subway, Safeway and two Starbucks. However, I found the service lacking and even though the vending machine said it had water, in reality, they didn't stock any water. Also, even though I requested a Non-Smoking room, the man next door to me was clearly a smoker and would keep going in and out of his room in 20 minute intervals to smoke, and the smoke would seep under my doorway, negating a Non-Smoking environment.
